Celebrity Influence on Fashion

Celebrities are everywhere; they are almost an unavoidable part of our life while growing up.
Starting at a young age, we look up to celebrities for many different reasons. For girls, it is usually for the beauty and extravagant style that famous women have.
For boys, it is usually the muscles and keen fashion sense of famous men that they aspire to have.

Celebrities greatly influence fashion choices of the youth because celebrities represent ideal beauty. Style is always changing and young people strive to keep up with the latest fashion trends, they want to look their best, so they look to celebrities in order to achieve that.

Celebrities are trend setters. One example is Uti Nwachukwu, the winner of BigBrother Allstars. He may not necessarily be the greatest inspiration for our youth. His fashion sense is spunky and fun, so I think that is why he appeals to young men.

Award shows like the AMVCA also inspire fashion. After these types of show, magazines and celebrity bloggers typically cover who was the “best dressed” and who was the “worst dressed.” And people pick up style they admire.

Most widespread clothing trends are first seen when celebrities wear them. Example is nativewear called senator or south-south that former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan made popular. Every Nigerian man has at least one it in his wardrobe.

Fashion Sense Vs Style Sense

Many mistake fashion sense for style sense. They’re not the same thing!
Don’t get it twisted, the two are intertwined. But simply being fashionable, doesn't necessarily mean you have a great style sense.
If you want to be a better dresser you should understand both the difference AND the relationship between the two.

Today you will learn both.

Style vs. Fashion: What’s the Difference?
You may not know it, but there’s actually a huge difference between being stylish and being fashionable.
Having a great style sense by definition implies that you show elegance, taste and refinement.
While fashion sense simply means that you’re following the latest trends and fashions.

See how they are totally different things?
Being stylish is about having enough taste that you can put a good outfit together. It is knowing what looks great on you.
Being fashionable is only about being up-to-date with the latest fashion trends
But it won’t make you look good unless you understand style first.

How Do They Relate to Each Other?
While being stylish and being fashionable shouldn't be confused as the same thing, you can certainly be both at the same time.

You can be BOTH stylish and fashionable, and you’ll look great.
You can also be stylish without being fashionable. You don’t need to follow fashion to create killer outfits. You can just stick to the classics and look great.
And you can also be fashionable without being stylish… BUT YOU SHOULDN'T!

Fashion Advice for Guys

Young men are the future leaders of society, and dressing sharp is the first step towards becoming professional in your sphere. A lot of young men are starting their professional lives without a clue as to how to dress. This needs to change

Clearly, clothes may not make the man, but the right clothing can give a young man precious seconds to make his case and influence people.

Let’s get few fashionable advices for guys

Bad Fit Is An Epidemic: Crisp, clean, and well fitted clothing encourages others to take you more seriously. The most basic improvement you can make in your style is to make sure everything fits impeccably. What you wear should almost hug the shape of your body; without being tight.

Have at Least One Good Suit in the Closet:  No matter what your job is, you’re going to need a decent suit at some point.

Build from White, Blue and Black Shirts: White, black and light blue shirts are the backbone to a sharp wardrobe.  This is basically because these colors make approximately 90% of the shirts sold anywhere. Either of these colors looks good on most skin tone and body types as well.

Take Care of Your Clothing: Being young means having less money to throw around.  If you've strained out for a few pieces of good, quality clothing - a made to measure suit, a pair of expensive dress shoes, well sewn native senator wear, or native casual wears made by one of the professional fashion designers we have in Nigeria, or what have you, it’s worth a few bucks more to keep the clothes in good shape.

Never stay Under-dressedYeah right! Don’t overdo it, but dare to take some risks. It’s always better to be a little bit overdressed than under-dressed in any setting. All you have to do is think about where and who you’re going to be with and just step it up one bit. But make sure you’re not better dressed than someone who is more important in a certain setting.

Disregard trends: Beware of buying something just because it’s in vogue, stick to what you truly like.

Never underestimate the power of details: The last thing on is usually the first thing noticed.

Continually cultivate your image: Invest more time and money into your image. Cultivate your fashion sense. Your style is a huge mode of communication, and is worth caring for as much as your education, career, and relationships.

Easiest Ways to Style Celebrities

1. Fit is Key – The most dramatic key to focus on as a celebrities in your fashion style is to make sure everything fits impeccably. Most guys wear clothes that are too large. Its best to have everything you wear almost hugging the shape of your body but not tight.

2. Keep it simple – As a celebrity, your wardrobe should look great on you. You should know the difference between being a fashion junkie and a trend setter. Don’t wear more than three pieces of jewelry or more than three colors.

3. Stay a notch above – Don’t overdo it to a fault, but dare to take some risks. It’s always better to be a little bit overdressed than underdressed in any setting. This is why I like JimIyke, Uti Nwachukwu and RMD. But make sure you’re not better dressed than someone who is more important in a certain setting, like your boss.

4. Never underestimate the power of details – The last thing on is usually the first thing noticed. So mind the details instead of throwing together the main parts of your outfit. “Details” can include a scarf, a subtle pocket square, or the way you knot your tie.
5. Invest in a superb pair of shoes – If it’s one thing that women will notice, it’s your shoes. Especially how clean and sharp they look. It’s easy to wash and press the rest of your clothes to keep them looking new, but most guys disregard their shoes. Show that you’re a man of taste by getting a great pair of shoes and keeping them in pristine condition.

6. Continually cultivate your image – Invest more time and money into your image. Cultivate your fashion sense. Your style is a huge mode of communication, and is worth caring for as much as you care to eat

Worst Dressed Nigerian Celebrities

Celebrities with the worst fashion sense

A celebrity is a person who is famous and has already attained a status in the society, with specific importance to the field of entertainment'.
The role of a celebrity is of quite significance. This is  because they become the role models for thousands of others harboring the dreams of becoming celebrities and others who don’t. These followers look up to their idols for almost every course of action and are often seen, modeling their lifestyle after these celebrities.
Obviously, Celebrities are forever in the spotlight, this is why all celebrities need to be on constant guard insofar as their day-to-day behavior is concerned.

In Nigeria today, we have a handful of celebrities that understand the position they occupy, and they do their best to always put their lives in check, especially when they are in the public eye. While there are some who doesn’t care what they bring on.
My focus today is on Nigerian celebrities who have got the worst fashion sense. Fashion being an instant language and style a personal matter implies that fashion and style is an artistic means of self-expression. Well, some of these celebrities are better off keeping their opinions of self in their closets.
Yeah, we all have the general off day when we just don’t feel like putting much effort into our appearance, but there simply aren’t enough excuses to look like you live in a cardboard box.
Well Sorry guys, you've just made our list for Nigerian celebrities with the worst fashion sense

1 Charley Boy

He is always dressing like a juju priest. He wears rings all over his fingers, nose, looking like an escaped inmate.

Denrele as a weird dresser. He dresses like a comic star in childrens' book

3 Prince Uzoegwu

He is a stunt follower of Denrele. A confused dresser.

4 Emeka Ike

Emeka is someone I admire from afar, but mehn I don’t envy his dressing at all. He doesn’t wear shirt, he wears shart. He doesn’t wear suit, suit wears him.

5 Cossy Orjiakor

Cossy is a Skin-Show lunatic, if she hasn’t shown her oversized pawpaw, she hasn’t started. It was difficult picking a decent picture of her. I think the picture above, is the most decent picture of Cossy, you can imagine the rest.

6 Rukky sands

Rukky has a habit for wearing very revealing outfits. On one occasion her nipples were almost showing in a highly revealing gown that she wore.

7 Halima Abubakar

She is an underwear skipping-agent. She is often seen without bra. Her fashion sense has nothing to bring back home.

8 Mbong Amatah

So I'm not entirely sure who Mbong Amatah is but i do know that she has a knack for picking very revealing clothes, her cleavage is a must see for viewers. Contrastingly, she is beautiful and a mother but her dressing, mehn… her child is really watching.

Oh well...that's one way to get people to know you guys I suppose!
