Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is ranked to be the number 1 in the list of the most famous persons in Nigeria, even in 2016. The former president of Nigeria is still well known by every living Nigerian person on the planet. Our research shows that, Jonathan’s name, face and reputation is well known by many Nigerian kids, youths, and adults. The ex-president has remained relevant and controversial even after leaving office in 2015.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was known to be a fashion icon because he created trend for many with his “Etibo Woko” and Tropical attires. This became the signature style of the commander in chief during his 6 plus years as president.

Aliko Dangote ranked no.3 last year moved up to no.2 this year. Our research shows that; the name; "Dangote" is a brand known practically known by every living Nigerian. His personality is reputed as the richest Nigerian. Aliko Dangot’s face might not be known by too many but the name is well known by almost every Nigerian adult, youth and kids.
Aliko Dangote is not a fashion slayer or a trend setter in fashion, but he knows how to put together what fits him. When he wears a suit, it must be “A suit that Fit”, his agbada is always on point and the last time he visited Peter of Psquare at his new crib, he was spotted on casual shirt and jeans and he looked young and cute on them.

Our research shows that as the president of Nigeria, Buhari is well known by many kids as they are being thought in school. The president’s face is becoming popular with the youths and kids, but well known by some old ones. We figured the president's name is well known by many but his face not that much.

Buahri’s fashion style is controversial, many argues that he repeats clothes all the time, while some credits him for trying to set a new fashion trend for the gents.
Well, I will say, Aso Rock is a tough notch, but the president still manages to fashion in touch with the times.

Olusegun Obasanjo is a very influential politician in Nigeria. He made number 4 in this list. Our research shows that Olusegun obasanjo popularly called OBJ, is well known by many Nigerian , especially among the teens, youths and adults. The famous politician is the only Nigerian who has led the country for almost 12 years; this made him very well known to many generations.
Olusegun Obasanjo looks his best only when he is wearing agbada. Suit doesn’t not flatter his body, you don’t want to see him wearing anything close to casual. He looks like a typical village farmer.

The pop star Ayo Balogun, known as Wizkid ranked the 5th position in this year's list. Our research shows that Wizkid is the most famous entertainer in Nigeria at the moment, he is already breaking grounds internationally. He is well known by kids, youths and many adults too. He is the most followed Nigeria person on Twitter.
His fashion style is nothing but pop all the way. His fashion pop style works for him but he is no fashion inspiration to any serious minded person.

Our research shows that, the  singer is one of the most famous music stars in the country at the moment. Mostly known by kids, youths and a few adults. Davido's face has been made popular by his popular music videos, TV and Billboard ads also.
His fashion sense is another pop fashion. Even though he launched a clothing line, yet he is also of no fashion inspiration to any serious minded person.

TB Joshua ranked the 7th position on this list. He is the spiritual leader of the Synagogue church of all nations. Our research shows that, the minister, televangelist and prophet is well known by Nigerians in every part of the country. He is known by both Christians and Muslims in the country because of his prophesies and miracles. Prophet Joshua is one of the most controversial people in Nigeria.
His fashion sense is decent and moderate, even though he doesn’t wear a fitted suit.

Known to be the G.O of the largest Christian ministry in Nigeria, pastor Adeboye, ranked 8th position in 2016 list. Our research shows that, half of Nigeria's population’s religion is Christianity and him heading the largest ministry in the country shows he is known by many Christians even ones that are not part of his ministry. We figured many Muslims know who Adeboye is too. The respected man of God is one of the most famous spiritual leaders in the country. Well, not known by many kids but known by many youths, adults and old ones.
He is not a fashion slayer either but his natives are well tailored and he wears “A suit that fit”

Mercy Johnson made the 9th position in the rank. She is a very popular Nollywood actress who feature in a lot of movies which millions of Nigerians watch, Mercy is quite controversial both online and offline. Mercy Johnson's face is quite a very popular one as she also features in many TV& Billboard ads too. Her name is well known by a lot of Nigerians and so is her face. Our research revealed Mercy is quite known both in the South and Northern part of Nigeria.
Mercy Johnson’s fashion sense tremendously improved after she got married. She rocked the 2015 AMVCAs event as one of the best dressed female.

whether in the spotlight or limelight, Funke ensures she dazzles!

What Does It Take To Be A Fashion Designer?

The “I am not a tailor, I’m a fashion designer” is one conversation I’ve heard one-too-many-times. I think because of the connotations of the Nigerian people about tailors, even tailors do not want to be called tailors again. Everyone now go by the name “Fashion Designer”.

I don’t see anything wrong with everyone changing their profession to fashion designers in Nigeria, even though being a tailor should also be honorable.

I think it will be best we get to know what the role of fashion designer is and how one can successfully become a fashion designer in Nigeria.

Fashion design is a form of art. To work as a designer, you should have an artistic and creative personality. You also have to be good at drawing and able to express your ideas in sketches.

You don't necessarily have to be a great artist, but you must have some special skills for combining colors, tones and shades. You also have to be able to work with fabric and use textiles in a creative and original manner.

A fashion designer is the creative mind behind any item of clothing, be it a high fashion runway garment or your regular pair of jeans or tee shirt.  They conduct research, develop a concept and vision for the type of person they would like to dress, create a visual image of their concept through sketches and oversee the various design and production processes that bring their sketches or designs to life in the form of a three dimensional garment to fit their intended market.

The tailors on the other hand, directly take measurement of the client and stitch the clothes according to the design given by the client
.
Now, it doesn’t mean that a tailor cannot be a fashion designer. In fact, it makes the whole process easier, if a tailor also has the skill of fashion designing.

To become a good fashion designer in Nigeria, you need to leverage on these rules;

Develop your skills. Successful fashion designers have a wide array of skills, including drawing, an eye for color and texture, an ability to visualize concepts in three dimensions, and the mechanical skills involved in sewing and cutting all types of fabrics.
Decide which designing field is your principal interest. For example;
·         Women's wear
·         Men's wear
·         Sportswear/fitness/leisure wear
·         Outdoor, adventure, outerwear
·         Bridal wear
·         Accessories
·         Casual

Ask your customers what they need.  Keep it simple and realistic. Extravagant sketches are nice on paper, but great native wears, casuals, shirts, pants or suit are better simple and classy. Simple designs remain the ultimate sophistication.

Assess your skills and personality honestly before pursuing a career in fashion design. You may love clothes but clothing is only part of the story when undertaking fashion design. You'll also need excellent communication skills, a willingness to work very hard, an ability to cope with stress, openness to having many different clients and/or bosses, an acceptance that there will be loneliness or isolation on occasion and an ability to be a self-disciplined self-starter.

Get educated about the business side of fashion.  Being a successful fashion designer not only requires talent and creativity, it also requires a sound knowledge of the business and marketing aspects of the fashion world.

Look for fashion design jobs. Or start your own fashion label but be prepared to be financially astute

Heading For A Wedding? Wear This....

Are you often late to wedding ceremonies because you just can’t seem to figure out what to wear? Your thought usually is to pick something right out of your closet that fits the occasion while at the same time feels comfortable, confident and you look well styled. Believe it or not this is something that can be easily achieved with just a little planning.

Plan your wardrobe the night before the event. How? Start by laying out the suits, shirts, ties, shoes, lapel pins that you think might work for the occasion. Style the outfits and make your choice of the best fit for the occasion. Iron those items that needed to be ironed and hang them nicely. Next morning just jump into your clothing and get your day started quickly.
It took me several years to start from the basics, if you try this and it works for you, then think of making it a habit and do it for all your clothes. This completely creates a great system for planning out a complete working wardrobe that not only fits your individual style, but also have you get dressed for any occasion at the drop of a dime.

Imagine having a plan for your wardrobe instead of haphazardly throwing your pieces of clothing together each morning. Now imagine how much time you would save.

See What Every Nigerian Tailor Does

Guess, you’ve probably made few trips to tailors in your life to take in (or let out) a dress or to shorten a pair of pants, shirts, suits, or native wears given to you as a gift. But there is much more our Skilled Nigerian tailors can do.

Choosing a tailor can be tricky – Nigerian tailors are loose and experience does not always equate to skill.  Oftentimes I meet someone who can do what I ask, but fails to point out what I asked for will ruin the look of the garment.  Other times I have been promised the whole world only to receive back a garment unfit to wear.  When you find a tailor that you like, one who understands your needs, please treasure that relationship because a skilled Nigerian Tailor can save you on a very bad day.

Most people confuse a Fashion Designer with a Tailor, the reason may be because both use the same tools and the end product is clothing. However there is huge difference in how they work. The tailors directly take client’s measurement and stitch the clothes according to the design given by the client. The Fashion Designer on the other hand is the creator of a new design. The Fashion Designer takes inspiration from different themes and draws new ideas.  We know the business of fashion and tailoring become more easy and intriguing if we have a tailor who is also a fashion designer.

What Nigerian tailor does that Nigerian Fashion designers may not do.

  1.         A Skilled Nigerian tailor makes, repairs, or alters clothing.
  2.                 He/she makes customized dress for a client who walks in his shop        professionally.
  3.              A Nigerian tailor usually makes dresses which clients might select from in magazines, newspapers, fashion shows etc.
  4.        .    A skilled Nigerian tailor is satisfied only when the client is happy; if the client isn’t satisfied with the clothes, the tailor either works to meet expectations or make the client whole by refunding his money.
  5.             A good Nigerian tailor offers guidance, on styles and can work on any body shape.
  6.             A skilled Nigerian tailor who understands his position and treasures his/her relationship with you will always be accessible. You want a professional that is accessible; when you find out a week before your wedding you’re a little too large for your once well-fitting suit, you want someone who can help you in a pinch, don’t you.
A good tailor is hard to find, but once you do they will help take any of your existing formal looks to the next level.

Muhammadu Buhari and his terrible fashion sense

President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerian President has won the award for the ‘Traditional President Ever’. During his campaign, he was seen in a suit that actually fit and we all thought that to be the face of change.

However, after he won the election, he has never worn a suit that actually fit, that is if he gets to wear a suit.

We know President Buhari is slim before we voted him, he need not to wear a suit bigger than him just to look bigger.

President Buhari, should imitate President Obama when he doesn’t know what to wear. A navy blue suit, pale blue shirt and complementary dark blue tie sometimes are the combination he should consider. Not only is this a less harsh combination than a bright white shirt and light-sucking black suit but it’s also more approachable.

Sometimes, I wonder what President Buhari would look like in his downtime or leisure moments, would he also be wearing his everyday native wear.

I totally agree that he is really hard-working person, yeah right; he’s got a lot on his desk as a president and may not give much thought to fashion. But even if he doesn’t, other people notice what he wears. Therefore, he needs to start paying attention to what he looks like when he leaves the house. He too can be fashionable, when he has the right attitude and the right information

President Obama has got a Great Fashion Sense

President Obama, America out-going president, has in the last eight years proved to be one of the best fashionable presidents. His fashion sense is second to none in the list of the world presidents.

He knows his size of suit and shirts. You cannot find President Obama in a suit that doesn’t fit. He is not in the list of men that never find a suit that fit and sure he doesn’t need a big suit to increase his size.

When in doubt of what to wear, follow President Obama’s all blue attire. A navy blue suit, pale blue shirt and complementary dark blue tie is the combination every man should imitate every once in a while. Not only is this a less harsh combination than a bright white shirt and light-sucking black suit (meaning you won’t look so pale and washed out if you’ve had a stressful few days), but it’s also far more approachable.
When you see Obama on his leisure time, you had sing “don’t you wish your daddy was fine like mine” He is no dick on his downtime.

If a president like Obama can pay attention to what he wears, despite every other decision he has to make, then you are without an excuse. Even if you aren’t paying attention to your fashion look, you can be assured that everyone else is. Fashion is a giant part of our life and as the saying goes ‘people will stare, make it worth their eyes.

Things You Should Know About Fashion

Unless you haven’t been paying attention for most of your life, you know fashion is a giant part of our lives. You might not want to think about it, but how you appear in your clothes is a critical factor in your self-esteem.

A lot of people do not bother with what goes around in fashion, especially in this part of the world. They just pick up what was handed over to them by past centuries or what their fashion designers had made up.

Fashion has rules. As an industry that thrives on creativity, individuality, and self-expression, fashion sure has a lot of restrictions. More often than not, having "style" is about knowing what you can and cannot wear for your figure, your age, and your social circles. And for however dusty you think these rules may be, they are still what hold fashion together.

Get a little inspiration on fashion today;

Dress appropriately for your figure: Your figure dictates what you wear. It’s a disaster to wear clothing made for figure A when you are figure S. Wear clothes that accentuate your strengths and hides your weaker parts.

A low-cut top may not work with your frame, but maybe you have legs for miles. A pair of heels and skinny jeans is a perfect choice for someone with great legs.
Don’t wear the latest style if it won’t look good on you and don’t buy it because the price is right. If it does not flatter your figure or fit your style, it’s not worth it no matter how great a deal it is.

Pay attention to the fabrics of clothing you purchase. It is important that you look at the materials first. Is it something you would feel comfortable wearing in our kind of weather? If not, no need to buy it and not use it.

Not many women want to be called fat. So, when you want to look slimmer, avoid stripes which run horizontally. These will make you appear wider than you are. Instead, wear clothing with vertical patterns, which will draw attention to height rather than girth.

When your shirts are tucked in, it is advisable to wear belt. If belts are not your thing, try wearing a pair of suspenders. Be sure and coordinate the suspenders with other accessories, especially shoes.

Many women are victims of this; keeping a bunch of makeup inside your cosmetic bag is a ‘don’t’. Just choose a few types of makeup products you use the most.

If you’re a hard-working person, you may not give much thought to fashion. But other people notice what you’re wearing, even if you don’t. Therefore, you need to start paying attention to what you look like when you leave the house. You too can be fashionable, when you have the right attitude and information.

Ugly Nigerian Celebrities VS Ugly Ghanaian Celebrities

I understand that we can’t create nor add to the creation of man, but there are people whom their look has earned some critics, some have made it to the top today not because of what is in their head but because they are more beautiful than others.

We don’t aim to degrade or defame anyone. Rather we want to encourage and motivate those who have refused to come out of their comfort zone because they think that they are too ugly, too short, too tall, too lame, too skinny or too fat to make a notable difference.

Anyone can become a star or a celebrity despite the physical look, just find what makes your personality tick, what makes you different. We’ve  all got one or two individual uniqueness.

Well, let the fun begin!

The  Ugly Nigerian Celebrities Vs. Ugly Ghanaian Celebrities

John Okafor is ugly and he knows. He affirmed it in an interview where he said he is unfortunately very ugly and he advises men to marry beautiful wife or risk ugly children.

To use the word ugly for Mr Hanks Anuku will be very hard. He would have earned the word "ugly", had he not been fair in complexion.

Kayode Olasehinde, popularly known as pa James, well i can give him the award. He has refused to look good.

Ghanaian Most Ugly Celebrities
He has earned the award too, Liwin is ugly. Kwadwo Nkansah Liwin has himself declared that he is too ugly to qualify for pornographic movies.

Macho Rapper wouldn't have made it to this list, if he had maintained his appearance, rather he has almost turned into a monster by lifting heavy metals. I think he can still remedy his looks.
Albert Apoozore popularly known as king Ayisoba is ugly on merit and it doesn't affect what he knows how to do best.

Well, these people have one special trait in common. They have refused to be subdued by their physical makeup or with what people will say when they come out. We know them today because they made a different. They discovered their uniqueness and they harnessed and engaged it. Today they may be ugly, but they are heroes.

Why You Should Buy Nigerian Made Suit Than A Foreign Suit

Foreign suit (Ready to wear) is bought off the rack, in a cut and style determined by the designer. The designer determines the style, size and specification. So as long as you are happy with the size and style, you can purchase it. Foreign suit leaves you with no option. You have no fantasy nor dream because the suit is imagined for you.

From observations, few men are likely to possess the dimension of a foreign suit exact size. So while a suit may fit well in some areas, it may be too long, short, loose or tight in others.

Obviously, those interested in menswear will over time want to start making their own sartorial choices around cloth, cut and finishing. This brings us to Nigerian-made suit.

Fabric used in sewing a suit is ultimately only as good as its raw ingredients. Fabric selection is the most important choice you should make. Having Nigerian fashion designers or tailors in Nigeria sew your suit, will give you the privilege to decide the fabric of your choice. Not only does it determine how your suit will look and feel, but also how it will perform and last over time.

Even though there is nothing inherently wrong with a well-tailored foreign suit that people buy off the rack, it simply cannot compare to having a suit made to your specifications.

A Nigerian-made suit takes countless measurements to make sure that every aspect is created to fit your body and your shape. If you buy a suit off the peg, it has a generic shape which will often need to be altered to fit comfortable and even when it has been altered, the fit still won’t be perfect.

Most of the foreign suits are often made with far cheaper material, which wears quickly and you find yourself needing to buy new suits more frequently. The fabric used by Nigerian fashion designers and tailors in Nigeria are often so superior in quality, that the suit ends up lasting a lot longer. When I visited a fashion designer in Nigeria, I made my choice of fabric; lining and the he also gave me aftercare guidelines on the fabrics.
Think of your first visit to a Nigerian fashion House as the first step in building your new wardrobe. Start with versatile basics and slowly build out to seasonal fabrics with more personality. You can wear a solid blue or black suit to the office three times a week and nobody will notice.

Fashion and style is simply about personality and self-expression, this you can’t get with a foreign suit but a Nigerian-made suit gives you a large scope to express yourself. Have a little patient and let your suit be sewn by Nigerian fashion designers or tailors.

How Dress Code affects Your Business Performance

First impressions and overall judgments about people are formed by the way they dress. It is important that your standard of dress creates a positive impression. It is true that professionalism varies by industries, yet the relationship between the variance is strongly interwoven.

You have to understand that no company standard of dressing is primarily designed for the employees; it is for the image of the business first. It is not the employees that pay the business; it’s the business that pays the employees.

When was the last time you saw a person in a suit struggling balance with a bus conductor or debating about any topic on the road?  When was the last time you saw a suited person sat beside a park bench eating gala and pure water?

How we dress influences how we act. Put on a sporty, and you are more likely to argue every topic on the road. Put on a posh suit,senator-native-wear or agbada, and you are more likely to walk upright and proud. You wouldn’t be caught wiping your nose on your sleeve, or dabbing crumbs from your mouth. You wouldn’t do it because of what you were wearing. Dressing affects how we act, talk, and even how we conduct ourselves around other people.

Even when your pocket is empty and you are wearing a nice tailored suit, it is difficult for people to call you poor, unattractive or unproductive.
Sequel to this, when people at your workplace are forced to wear suit, then people around them will start treating them differently too.

When you are dressed in proper business attire, it gives the message that you are dedicated to your position and it presents a visual image of your company.
It would be a shame to be overlooked for a promotion simply because of the way you dress. Regretfully , this actually does happen quite often.

It is most important to get attention for great work rather than gaining attention for wearing the latest fashion trend, and if you must; go for a more conservative look.

You don’t have to have all the money before you can look good, wear a suit or appear professional. If you able to get a Nigerian fashion designer or a Nigerian tailor for those of us in Nigeria, who has been known for nice work and excellent customer satisfaction, you can be sure to get a fitted posh suit with cashmere material or any nice material of your choice. You can also get corporate shirts, pants, or skirts from any good Nigerian fashion designer or Nigeriantailor.
I wouldn’t be wrong to say that, I prefer a tailored suit, Nigerian-made-suit to foreign one, because after I wore a suit made by a Nigerian fashion designer, I decided never to buy a foreign suit. Dr. Legend Clothing dazzled me.

However, if you are dressed for work, then you are more likely to work.
